In my experience with this ROM, the battery life was just the same as the stock ROM, but I was able to customize a few things here and there. To put it into better words, think of LineageOS, but with added features and tweaks. Not to mention, the huge list of device support– both new and old. If minimalism is what you’re looking for then Arrow OS is right up your alley. Possibly the lightest and most functional custom ROM out there, the Arrow OS project is based on the AOSP code while adding useful tweaks.
- Picture-in-picture is a wonderful feature, especially for those of us who love to multitask.
- If you don’t want the previous data on your phone please skip the last button on Odin which is “UMS” or “USERDATA“.
- Since crDroid is based on LineageOS at its base, the performance and battery life are phenomenal.
- It seems that the full version of Android 11 has greater requirements than Microsoft’s latets Windows OS.
If you go to the app drawer, you will also see apps such as YouTube, Google Maps, and Google Play Services, thanks to the Google Apps package that you installed. Evolution X 5.1 is based on pure AOSP, and offers a stock Pixel OS experience. Besides a new number, Android 11 comes with lots of features and optimizations. For example, a new feature called Bubbles allows users to chat while multitasking. You can pin conversations which will appear on top of other screens and pages, so you can easily keep the conversation going. Furthermore, there’s a built-in screen recording, smart replies, device controls, media controls, and much more. Learn how to download and install Evolution X 5.1 on the Realme 5 Pro.
Another ROM that is based on the AOSP Gerrit but has its own custom mods is the Xtended. Initially known as MSM Xtended, this project came into existence around the time of the Android Pie launch. However, despite being a relatively new project, the ROM has quickly evolved into becoming a very stable and reliable ROM and gives plenty of other competitors a run for their money. Third, it has amazing stability among all the ROMs that I have tested for years.
Aside from the Android 12 base, the first visible change in the OxygneOS 12 upgrade is the redesigned user interface. Along with the August 2022 security updates, there is a lot of new quality-of-life features and enhancements, such as Canvas AOD and the OnePlus Watch Card in Shelf.
Of course there are a few bugs that you will need to stock firmware file live with in the event that you are a phone user and want to try the new system. For example, the Bluetooth connection does not work in this version of ROM yet. Since this version is still in the alpha (pre-beta) stage, if you install it you will not find any customization options, so you can consider it an AOSP ROM with the name StatiXOS only. If you are looking for stability, I would recommend LineageOS, especially for older devices. Apart from that, overall, I think Pixel Experience and Paranoid Android are one of the best Android custom ROMs.
